Windows-Moview-Maker (Topwin-Movie-Maker) SCAM!!!

The sole purpose of this blog and its only article is to provide a review for the so called Windows-Movie-Maker and prevent you from being scammed.

I will describe myself as regular internet user with an average computer literacy. Unfortunately I still got tricked. One day I decided to create a video for the birthday for a friend of mine. For the purpose I gathered multiple greeting videos from our friends. What was left was to find a free video editing tool, that would allow me to merge the short videos together in one. And so I started googling for such free video editing programs. As I am a Windows user, I made the following google searches: windows movie maker, free windows movie maker, or windows movie maker 2019. The results pointed me to the following site https://www.topwin-movie-maker.com/. When you open it you can see that its title is Windows Movie Maker. 

However, it has nothing to do with Microsoft!!!

Then, once you are tricked that this is a Microsoft product, you are further triggered by the "Free Download" buttons on the page. And so I downloaded the installation files on my PC and ran the program. At this moment, everything is fine and you can still use the full set of functionalities provided for free. I spent hours in editing the video for my friend. In the end I was ready and when I tried to export the video I was badly surprised. Only at this moment, the program would ask me to pay for it. Otherwise you are not able to export your video without an ugly "Topwin-Movie-Maker" watermark placed in the middle of the exported video. Finally, as I had already spent multiple hours on this project I bought a license, so that I can export my video without the stupid watermark.

Then I decided to read the support terms of the super cool software, that I just bought. Go to: https://www.topwin-movie-maker.com/support.html and see the following:

Great! I was feeling optimistic again, that these guys actually provide a good service and they are actually not scammers. So I opened a new ticket through their support system and asked for a refund as documented on their support page (marked in red above) but I never got the refund. I hope no other person is tricked to use this software.
